The Clements Department of History provides a stimulating environment in which
you can gain analytical and communication skills
that solidly prepare you for a wide variety of career
paths. Courses range
from the introductory-level surveys to intensive seminars in specific areas.
You can
expect frequent reading, writing, and research assignments integrated with
training on how to formulate cohesive arguments. History faculty
members have consistently been honored with teaching awards for their
enthusiasm and interaction with students, as well as national recognition
work.
The department is home to the William P. Clements Center
for Southwest Studies.
