The Department of Anthropology prepares you to meet the increasing demand for a scientifically trained and globally minded workforce. By studying diverse human cultures across distance, time, language, and ethnicity, you can better understand and influence sociocultural change.

You will acquire analytical and research know-how that can be applied in the field or in business. Identified by USA Today as a “hot asset in corporate America,” anthropology expertise can be used to identify and anticipate the needs of the global marketplace.

The B.A. degree in anthropology is intended for students who seek general training in anthropology within a liberal arts curriculum. The B.S. degree in anthropology focuses on specialized training. Four subfields provide a strong background for studying the human condition: cultural/social anthropology, archaeology, anthropological linguistics, and physical anthropology.

Learn from internationally recognized faculty who have conducted research in a variety of settings.
