SMU provides wonderful opportunities for you to expand
your horizons.
It’s a new
place with different cultures and communities, along with
different policies and
expectations.
For instance, transfer students want to know which courses will
transfer
to SMU
and when to expect to find out. Once your
transcripts
arrive, faculty members from the content area of each of
your
completed
classes evaluate your coursework. As quickly as
possible,
you will receive
a Transfer Evaluation Report in the mail.
- Review the "Transfer Admissions Criteria" in the SMU Catalog
- Apply to SMU and submit your final transcripts as soon as
possible (if you haven't) - Consider taking college writing, math, a natural science with lab,
or info
technology (IT) with an ethics component at your
present school - Before meeting your academic advisor, begin semester planning
- Familiarize yourself with academic policies
