Grading
Grading at the University level is usually a bit different than a student’s high school experience. The grade of a student in any course is determined by the instructor of the course, and it is the student’s responsibility to keep track of their individual marks in a course.
Once a final grade is assigned, the grade will be calculated into the student’s SMU grade point average and will appear on the student’s transcript. Unofficial transcripts can be viewed at any time on your student Access.SMU account. The following point system shows grade points recorded to assigned letter grades:

To calculate your GPA add the number of hours earned, add number of grade points, and divide total number of grade points by total number of hours.
