The
University anticipates adding staff and resources to the Development and
External Affairs operation over the next 36 months.
DEA is led by Brad Cheves, who joined SMU in August 2004 as vice president for Development and External Affairs. We are growing in preparation for a campaign in conjunction with the centennial of the University's founding in 1911 and its opening in 1915.
In 2002, the University concluded the Campaign for SMU: A Time to Lead, a highly successful five-year fundraising endeavor. More than 41,000 donors contributed over $542 million, almost twice the Campaign's original goal of $300 million.
