Academic Computing Services has moved to the first floor of Fondren Library West. (map)
ACS is a division of Budget and Information Technology Services (BITS). We are the campus-wide resource for information and assistance regarding instructional technology. ACS focuses its areas of expertise into five departments:

- Classroom Technology Support
Provides support for more than 100 technology-equipped classrooms on campus, provides design, engineering, and project management for instructional technology implementation initiatives, and supports video conferencing services across campus. - Course Management Systems
Responsible for Blackboard and WebCT course management systems. - Multimedia & Web Development
Helps faculty develop web pages, CD-ROMs and other instructional material. Manages STAR faculty assistance program. - Professional Development
Offers software training for faculty and staff. Manages Student Web Assistants program. -
Statistical
and Research Support
Provides statistical consulting support to the SMU academic and administrative community. Also assists with statistical and mathematical software functionality and acquisition for centrally funded software.
