America: History and Life SMU Only
Looking for historical studies of religious movements and institutions in the United States or Canada? Use this database. Topics include: Christianity and American public life; Religious sects and cults in America; Religion in politics; Native American religions; and the Puritan tradition in America.
Arts and Humanities Index (password required - contact an SMU Librarian) SMU Only
To locate scholarly articles on a broad range of issues relating to religion, this is a good place to search - particularly for interdisciplinary areas. Look here for religion and art; religion as story; love and death in ancient mythology; female and male in religion and culture; or African-American approaches to religion.

This is a companion to America: History and Life; it includes historical information for the countries not covered to ALH&L. Look here for historical information on: historical information regarding Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, etc.; or the Second Vatican council.
Philosopher's Index SMU Only
This is the principal resource philosophical research. Use this index to find ways of being spiritual ; bible and ethics; philosophy of religion; Christian theology; Sikhism or Confucianism.
PsycInfo SMU Only
This index to psychological literature is fairly broad in scope and you will find it helpful for researching: understanding the self: east and west; ways of being religious; human meaning and value in personal life; religion and the Holocaust; Jews and Christians in Germany.
