Citing Sources: MLA Style

Whether you provide a direct quotation or merely included ideas from something you read, If you use someone else's ideas in your paper you must document the sources. Citing sources gives credit to the authors for their ideas and allows other people to find and explore the sources you've consulted and quoted.

This guide is geared more toward a advanced writers with sections covering theses and dissertations and following a work from manuscript to publication. This text also includes guideline for MLA citiation style and formatting.
