American Library Association
The American Library Association is the oldest and largest library association in the world, with more than 64,000 members. Its mission is to promote the highest quality library and information services and public access to information. ALA offers professional services and publications to members and nonmembers. The American Library Association, made up of eleven divisions and fifteen offices, sponsors numerous conferences, meetings, forums, institutes, library promotions and other events. The ALA Annual Conference is held in June and the Mid-Winter Conference is held in January.

Amigos
Amigos Library Services, Inc. is dedicated to serving libraries.  Amigos began in 1974 in Dallas, TX, as AMIGOS Bibliographic Council, when 22 libraries united to bring OCLC access to the southwestern United States.  A nonprofit organization, Amigos is today one of the nation’s largest library resource-sharing networks and a leader in providing information technology to libraries. The Amigos Membership consists of over 750 libraries and cultural institutions, located primarily in the southwestern United States, who utilize Amigos’ comprehensive line of services, including cataloging, reference, resource sharing, preservation, digital imaging, consulting and training.

OCLC
Founded in 1967, OCLC Online Computer Library Center is a nonprofit, membership, computer library service and research organization dedicated to the public purposes of furthering access to the world's information and reducing information costs. More than 53,548 libraries in 96 countries and territories around the world use OCLC services to locate, acquire, catalog, lend and preserve library materials. OCLC and its member libraries cooperatively produce and maintain WorldCat—the OCLC Online Union Catalog.

Texas Library Association
TLA is a professional organization that promotes librarianship and library service in Texas. Through legislative advocacy, continuing education events, and networking channels, TLA offers members opportunities for service to the profession as well as for personal growth.

Endeavor Information Systems Inc
Based in Des Plaines, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, Endeavor Information Systems Inc. has been providing integrated library solutions since its inception in 1994. The SMU Libraries PONI catalog is an Endeavor Voyager product.

University Libraries Group (ULG)
The mission of the University Libraries Group is to bring together directors of comparable, mid-sized university libraries to share best practices, promote the libraries’ interests, develop benchmarks for assessing quality of service, and discuss current trends in the delivery of information to undergraduate and graduate programs in a range of disciplines. Libraries selected for membership are primarily privately funded. Membership in University Libraries Group is determined by size and quality of library, amount of institutional resources received by library, number and caliber of students and level of graduate programs supported.

Coalition for Networked Information
The Coalition for Networked Information (CNI) is an organization dedicated to supporting the transformative promise of networked information technology for the advancement of scholarly communication and the enrichment of intellectual productivity. Some 200 institutions representing higher education, publishing, network and telecommunications, information technology, and libraries and library organizations make up CNI's Members.

International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions
IFLA (The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions) is the leading international body representing the interests of library and information services and their users. It is the global voice of the library and information profession.

Educause
EDUCAUSE is a nonprofit association whose mission is to advance higher education by promoting the intelligent use of information technology. 928 institutions participated last year. Membership is open to institutions of higher education, corporations serving the higher education information technology market, and other related associations and organizations.

Phoenix Libraries Group
The purpose of The Phoenix Group is to provide opportunities for library cooperation and resource sharing among the members, and to enhance and improve services for the patrons of Phoenix Group libraries. The Charter Members of The Phoenix Group are the libraries of Baylor University, Southern Methodist University, Texas A&M University - Commerce, Texas Christian University, Texas Tech University, Texas Women’s University, University of North Texas, University of Texas at Arlington, ad the University of Texas at Dallas.

Texas Council of Academic Libraries (TICAL)
The Association exists to advance the interests of independent and state supported college and university libraries in Texas and to promote cooperation, communication and resource sharing among its members.
Council membership consists of the head librarians of Texas universities and colleges (including community and junior colleges) as well as the head librarians of separately operated special libraries affiliated with state supported universities.
The Council meets annually in the fall, usually in Austin, TX, and at other times as called by the Executive Board.

Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR)
CLIR is an independent, nonprofit organization. Through publications, projects, and programs, CLIR works to maintain and improve access to information for generations to come. In partnership with other institutions, CLIR helps create services that expand the concept of "library" and supports the providers and preservers of information.

CLIR pursues three primary goals in support of its mission:
* To foster new approaches to the management of digital and nondigital information resources so that they will be available in the future
* To expand leadership capacity in the information professions
* To analyze changes in the information landscape and help practitioners prepare for them.

North American Serials Interest Group (NASIG)
Established in 1985, the North American Serials Interest Group, Inc. (NASIG) is an independent organization that promotes communication and sharing of ideas among all members of the serials information chain - anyone working with or concerned about serial publications.

Libraries Very Interested in Sharing (LVIS)
A voluntary agreement to govern interlibrary resource sharing among libraries in the Amigos Library Services, Inc. It is based on the premise that resource sharing among Amigos member libraries is in the public interest and should be encouraged; interlibrary borrowing is an integral part of collection development, not an ancillary option; interlibrary lending is vital to the success of every library’s ability to borrow needed materials.

Bibliographical Center for Research
AMIGOS Bibliographic Council, Inc. (AMIGOS) and the Bibliographical Center for Research (BCR) offer the AMIGOS/BCR Reciprocal Interlibrary Loan Agreement as a permanent option to our members who are interested in expanding their resource sharing opportunities to include members of both networks. BCR, our OCLC network neighbor to the north, represents over 300 libraries in the midwest, primarily in Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Utah, and Wyoming. AMIGOS members willing to reciprocate can provide their patrons expanded access to the rich resources of participating BCR libraries.
