Rice University: Brown Fine Arts Library. http://www.ruf.rice.edu/~brownlib/music/music.html International Index to Music Periodicals (IIMP)The Central University Library system now has full access through the World Wide Web to a new database that indexes music periodicals, which is called IIMP. Following are some of the significant features of IIMP: IIMP Web provides convenient online access to the information in more than 360 current international music periodicals from over 20 countries, and retrospective citations dating back as far as 1874. IIMP allows for precise retrieval of information from a dozen combinable fields: All Keywords, Title Keyword, Author, Subject Categories, Subject Terms, Document Type, Publication, Language, Country of Publication, Publication Date, ISSN, and IIMP Number. You can perform adjacency/proximity searching, truncation, and Boolean searching both within and across fields of the IIMP database. IIMP displays search results in reverse chronological order, i.e., most recently published information first. IIMP draws its current content from more than 360 international music periodicals from over 20 countries, and also indexes feature music articles and obituaries appearing in The New York Times and The Washington Post. IIMP covers nearly all aspects of the world of music, from the most scholarly studies to the latest crazes. See the Title List at the following address: http://iimpft.chadwyck.com/home for periodicals included. Every IIMP record in the current coverage (1996 forward) contains an abstract.
