ListservsIn traveling through these webpages, you will come across some references to listservs. For those of you who are not familiar with these, listservs are "discussion lists" that often come in the form of email messages. Below you will find instructions for subscribing to some listservs devoted to brass instruments and music. Upon subscribing, you will receive confirmation of your subscription and some important instructions that you should keep. Some lists have a high volume of messages so it is recommended that you get the digest version. This way you will receive one message per day that contains all the messages from the previous day. To do this, send a message, after you have subscribed, to the listproc or majordomo address. Put nothing in the subject line, the message should contain: SET {name of list} DIGEST. Brass Digest: Send an email to: brass-request@gly.fsu.edu , stating that you want to subscribe to the Brass Mailing List. You can specify digest (1 message/day) or individual messages (many messages/day). The list maintainer is Ted Zateslo at the above address. Tuba-Euphonium: Send a one line message (no subject) to: listproc@u.washington.edu with the message: subscribe tubaeuph Trumpet: Send a one line message (no subject:) to: majordomo@parnassus.dana.edu with the message: subscribe tpin [or, tpin-digest] Trombone: Send a one line message (no subject:) to: listproc@lists.missouri.edu with the message: sub trombone-L Your Name Brass Bands: Send a one line message (no subject) to: listserver@smsltd.demon.co.uk with the message: subscribe brass-band Your Name
