The Government Information Resources collections include Federal (United States Government) publications in paper, microfiche
and electronic -- both tangible (e.g., DVD-ROM) and virtual (e.g., web-based resources) -- formats. The Federal collection has been developed to support research in the humanities, the social
sciences, education, legal studies, science and technology, and business, as well as areas of interest to the general public. Currently, SMU receives 77% of the publications made available to depository libraries via the Federal Depository Library Program or FDLP.
