This staff exhibit focuses on the achievements of
African-American blues, jazz, gospel, and rhythm and blues
artists from Dallas and the surrounding area via a display
of record albums, compact discs, books, photographs,
posters, vintage publications (from sheet music to
magazines), and biographical / analytic information. Musical
artists to be showcased include: Scott Joplin (Texarkana);
Blind Willie Johnson (Dallas); Blind Lemon Jefferson
(Dallas); T-Bone Walker (Dallas); Ornette Coleman (Fort
Worth); Freddie King (Dallas); John Carter (Dallas); Sly
Stone (Dallas); and others.
