From May 24, 2000 to July 14, 2000 the Fondren Library Center will host an exhibit entitled: Disneyland - 45 Years Of Magic. This year, Disneyland in Anaheim, California will celebrate 45 years of being the touchstone of quality in the theme park industry. The exhibit in the library center will highlight a bit of the history of this magical park. Science Library staff member, Dave Schmidt, will be displaying books, souvenir items and ephemera from his personal collection of Disneyland memorabilia. Dave is a native of Southern California and made his first visit to Disneyland one-week after its opening in July of 1955. Since that time Dave's fascination with Walt Disney's Magic Kingdom has never subsided. He has been a serious collector of Disneyland and other Disney memorabilia since his late teens. Come to the Fondren Library Center and see why Disneyland is known as The Happiest Place On Earth.
