Dean's Policy Group charged the CUL
Electronic Resources Team with
conducting
a detailed investigation of Link Resolver
products currently on the market
in order to assess their potential for use with
SMU online collections.

ERM Product Review (ongoing)
In October 2004, the CUL Dean's Policy Group
charged the CUL Electronic Resources Team with
undertaking an information-gathering project on
Electronic Resource Management systems (e.g.
Endeavor Meridian). The group was charged with
examining what is available, determining whether
such systems would support our needs and
interface with Voyager, and getting pricing
details if available.

The CUL Electronic Resources Team will investigate
products intended to provide the following:
- Management of electronic journals that are in
aggregators, part of licensed publisher packages,
individually licensed, or freely available (required)
- E-journal holdings with broad date range holdings
information (required) or more detailed, issue-level
holdings information (preferred) - direct title-level access (required) with access
via PONI (preferred) - Subject-specific title lists (required)
After reviewing and evaluating existing products
based on the above criteria, the EResources Team will
provide recommendations for action based on an
assessment of local needs.
