Use the class number in addition to the ordering or selecting library to determine the permanent location for the material. Depending on the instructions below, it may be necessary to change the location flag in the book and the location code on the Holdings record. Consult the Voyager Location Codes chart for the designated flag color.

Fondren

Any material ordered or selected for Fondren is shelved in Fondren except for material in the class numbers listed in the charts below for Hamon and Science. See also instructions under Juvenile for material to be shelved in the Juvenile section of Fondren.

Hamon

Any material ordered or selected for the Hamon Library is shelved in that library regardless of classification number. In addition, material classified in any of the class numbers below is always shelved at Hamon.

 

Science (sci and sci,stor only)

Material classified in any of the class numbers below is shelved at Science rather than Fondren.

 

 

 

Any material ordered or selected for any other location at Science besides "sci" or "sci,stor" is shelved in that collection regardless of classification number. Examples of other collections at Science that may have material in any class number are "scid," "scim," and "sci,map."

Fort Burgwin

Any material ordered or selected for the Fort Burgwin Library is shelved in that library regardless of class number.

ISEM

Any material ordered or selected for the ISEM Library is shelved in that library

regardless of class number.

Reference

Material ordered or selected for any reference collection is shelved in that collection regardless of class number.

Juvenile

Any material ordered or selected for the Juvenile Collection is shelved in that collection regardless of class number. In addition, material that meets any of the following criteria is also shelved in the Juvenile Collection even if the material was not ordered for the Juvenile Collection.

 

• "j" in Audience fixed field (008)
• subdivision Juvenile literature in 6xx subfields x or v
• PZ5-90 (juvenile fiction) call number

 

Exceptions: If the book was ordered for Hamon, Fort Burgwin, ISEM, or DeGolyer, catalog it for the library for which it was ordered.

 

If a book is specifically ordered for the Juvenile collection but LC does not consider it to be Juvenile, catalog it for the Juvenile collection and add the subdivision Juvenile literature to the subjects.

DeGolyer

Any material ordered or selected for the DeGolyer Library is shelved in that library regardless of class number.
