This documentation explains and illustrates how bibliographic and holdings records for classed separately series received as continuation orders are represented in the Voyager Cataloging Module.
Classed separately series that are received as continuation orders require bibliographic and holdings records in the Voyager Cataloging module that are linked to a purchase order. Classed separately series received as ongoing gifts and treated as continuation orders may also have bibliographic and holdings records in the Voyager Cataloging module in order to record collection development decisions. Create a purchase order only if the series is received on a regular basis and a pattern is to be created in Serials Check-in.
Use bibliographic records with lc, lcd, or nsdp in the 042 field. Add zSTANDING ORDER in the 945 |a. If the series is an ongoing gift, add |x Gift after zSTANDING ORDER.

If no lc, lcd, or nsdp bibliographic record is found, create a bibliographic record using the BibClassedSep template. Check the form of entry by searching OCLC for a series authority record. If the series is an ongoing gift, add |x Gift after zSTANDING ORDER.
