Welcome to the Central University Libraries! Supporting the research, teaching and learning needs of SMU students, faculty and staff is our primary goal. I hope that you enjoy your experience here – either by visiting one of our beautiful libraries or by virtually exploring all of our online resources.
One awesome service we offer at the library is one-on-one research help from our personal librarians who have expertise in every subject to help you with your research assignments. We also have varying kinds of study spaces at Fondren Library to match any environment you need from quiet study spaces like the historic Fondren Foundation Centennial Reading Room or the 4th floor Skyline Study area to group learning spaces in the Collaborative Commons area and the full-service Starbucks Café where you can refuel while you study.
I welcome feedback from you at all times. We have a student forum that meets each semester to discuss ways to enhance the student library experience. If you are interested in joining, contact Hollie Gardner, User Experience Librarian, or visit the CUL Student Advisory Council page for more information.
Feel free to email me personally at firstname.lastname@example.org, or use any of our various online Ask-a-Librarian services if you have questions or need help. Our job is to make your academic life easier, so take advantage of all our services and resources. And if you are lonely for a human face, come and see me. My office is located on the third floor of Fondren Library East, room 300.
