License & Accreditation
The center was started over twenty-five years ago as a co-operative. It has since become a full service child care center licensed by the State of Texas and certified by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
The center currently serves thirty-three children and families consisting of student, staff and faculty of SMU. Staff to child ratios meet and exceed the quality standards set by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and Texas Minimum Standards. They are as follows:
- Infant room (1-18 months): 2 teachers to 5 children
- Toddler room (18-36 months): 2 teachers to 12 children
- Preschool room (3-5 years.): 2 teachers to 16 children
All teachers are highly experienced with a combination of degrees and in-service training and complete annual CPR and First Aid training.
