Elke Hardt Arnold, M.Ed., is an Assistant Director with the Hegi Family Career Development Center and has been with the office since 1995. She currently serves the Meadows population as well as 1st & 2nd year, undeclared students, providing individual guidance & counseling as well as offering workshops on a variety of career-related topics.
Elke received a Master of Education degree in Counseling & Psychological Services from Springfield College, Massachusetts and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from La Sierra University, California.
Originally from Canada, Elke worked for the Canadian Olympic Association, assisting national team athletes with their transition from sport to the work world. She was also a senior consultant with KPMG (formerly Peat Marwick Stevenson & Kellogg) and coached clients on recareering.
Elke serves on SMU’s Student Affairs Professional Development Committee and AARO (Advising/Registration Orientation) Planning Committee. She is currently President-Elect of MAC3 (Metroplex Area Consortium of Career Centers). She is also a member of the American Counseling Association, National Career Development Association, American College Counseling Association, National Employment Counseling Association, and Southern Association of Colleges & Employers.
