Job Description:

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

The ideal candidate is currently a senior at a college or university looking for an opportunity to develop a career in sales.  We seek the following qualifications and competencies:

v Bachelors Degree; Business, Economics, Finance, Sales, Marketing majors preferred

v 3.0 GPA or better required

v Participation in a competitive collegiate activity such as athletics or mock trial/speech, or other competitive activities is strongly preferred

v High energy self starter, good decision maker with an entrepreneurial sprit who is bright, confident, assertive, and results oriented

v Ability to analyze complex problems and to make sound recommendations in a fast-paced sales environment

v Record of high achievement, self-motivation, ability to multi-task and solid work ethic

v Excellent interpersonal and written, verbal, and presentation/communication skills

v Ability to obtain Resident’s Life/Health License

WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION?

v Quickly learn and assimilate new processes, product knowledge, and sales skills

v Successfully complete formal 6 month training program, work with a sales mentor to develop Group Benefits Sales expertise.

v Personal sales results on new and existing accounts in assigned territory; meet (exceed) assigned annual sales goal, development of sales leads (prospects) through producer development including physical calls, phone canvassing, and written correspondence.

v Builds relationships and works effectively with a team that includes producers, corporate resources, and field service.

v Learn and use proper field underwriting to assure profitability: using established guidelines/procedures the incumbent will ensure continuous development of assigned territory/Book of Business. 

v In conjunction with Sales Mentor analyze and evaluate market trends and recommend future improvements based upon findings.

v Extensive travel (50%-70%) required in designated territory.

v Work effectively with Internal and External clients.

v Responsible for the Sales and Conservation within assigned territory of all Group Life and Disability business in support of the respective Group Sales Office, and Hartford Life's business goals. Emphasis on Employer Groups of less than 1000 lives.
