Business Services Financial Officer

The Financial Officer  is responsible for the business services division budget administration, financial analysis, budget report security access, systems and process internal control, PeopleSoft module financial controls (Purchasing, HRMS), division-wide position control, travel authorization and general business process improvement.  You may contact Robert Garrett at ext. 8-2803 or email him at: garrett@smu.edu.

Auxiliary Services Accounting

This activity is managed by Yolanda Sparks, Auxiliary Accountant and supports the Auxiliary Services function. Auxiliary Services includes Dining, the Faculty Club, Summer Conferences, Vending, McFarlin Auditorium, Book Store, Post Office and Print Services. The primary processes are accounts receivable, deposit processing, internal cross-charge administration and billing.

Benefits Accounting

Susan Wright manages the benefits accounting activity. This position collaborates with Payroll, Benefits Administration, Human Resources and the University Controller’s Office. The primary objective is the accurate and timely submission of payments and supporting data to the health care providers for services rendered and retirement asset contributions by the University and individual employees to the respective asset custodians.
