BRIDWELL LIBRARY

Publications

At Bridwell Library we strongly believe that the history of books and printing is crucial for any understanding of cultural history. To share this knowledge and to encourage new research the library publishes high quality exhibition catalogs, conference proceedings, and facsimiles, and digital editions of rare books and manuscripts.

Our goal is to make original contributions to scholarship on important historical and artistic subjects in a format accessible to a general public. It is a hallmark of our exhibition program to have leading scholars serve as guest curators on a regular basis. Twice in recent years, Bridwell has won first place in the American Library Association's prestigious Katherine Kyes Leab and Daniel J. Leab Exhibition Catalogue Award for Excellence. First for The Reformation of the Bible/ The Bible of the Reformation in 1998, and again for Formatting the Word of God: The Charles Caldwell Ryrie Collection in 2000. We have also co-published catalogs with Yale University Press and Abingdon Press.

The publication program is supported by a generous endowment established by the J. S. Bridwell Foundation and the Bridwell Associates (our "friends of the library" group).

In addition to our paper and electronic publications, Bridwell Library offers notecards, postcards, and other library-related products.
