THE METHODIST HISTORICAL LIBRARY was formed by the late Bishop Frederick D. Leete and was moved to Bridwell Library in 1956. The 3,000-plus volume collection is rich in first printings of works by John and Charles Wesley, and thus supplements and lends depth to the larger general collection of Methodism in Bridwell Library. More than 130 manuscript letters of the Rev. John Wesley form the chief jewel of the files of correspondence which Bishop Leete collected.
