THE GUTENBERG BIBLE LEAF COLLECTION represents the beginning of printing history with leaves from three distinct Gutenberg Bibles: a 31-leaf fragment (Jeremiah-Lamentations-Baruch) from the “Trier II” Bible, a single paper leaf (Exodus 9-11) from the Bible dispersed as “Noble Fragments” in 1921, and a rare single vellum leaf (Genesis 46-48) rescued from its re-use in a subsequent binding (see also Harrison and Prothro collections).
