The Holy Bible, conteining the Olde Testament and the New. Newly translated out of the originall tongues, and with the former translations diligently compared and reuised, by His Maiesties speciall commandement. London: Robert Barker, 1612.

Octavo. [952] pages, 6⅝ x 4¼ inches. Roman. Bound in remounted red morocco binding with gold stamps of the royal arms; spine gilt; 3 ties retained. § DMH 316, with metrical Whole Book of Psalms by Sternhold and Hopkins (1612); STC (2nd ed.) 2222. § CD-ROM: 9.4, fol. N3v (detail), "she".

The Ryrie Collection has another 1612 octavo which differs considerably from DMH 315, with the reading in Ruth 3:15 of "she." The text was apparently set from the folio 1613/11 edition which was produced in 1611, but delayed for publication until 1613, the date that appears on the title page. Thus, it was possible for a Bible bearing the date 1612 to have been set from the text of a 1613 edition.

Literature: Goodspeed 1935; Holy Bible, 1611 1965.
