Nuestra Seņora de Guadalupe: Mother of God, Mother of the Americas

This exhibition celebrated the devotional traditions and cultural identity of Southwest America associated with the appearance of the Virgin Mary at Guadalupe (Tepeyac), Mexico, in 1531. Written by Dr. Edwin E. Sylvest, Jr., Associate Professor of Church History, Perkins School of Theology, the catalog includes the first facsimile publication of the Nican Mopohua (c. 1540, loaned by New York Public Library), the earliest testimony to the miracle at Guadalupe.
