The Gehenna Press: The Work of Fifty Years, 1942-1992

This historic exhibition provided a sweeping retrospective of works from the Gehenna Press, founded by the outstanding American graphic artist, Leonard Baskin (1922-2000). The exhibition, which also traveled to the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., the Grolier Club in New York City, and six American university libraries, was curated by Lisa Unger Baskin. The catalog, copiously illustrated in color, included an assessment of the work of the press by Colin Franklin, a bibliography of Gehenna Press books by Hosea Baskin, and notes on the books by the printer, Leonard Baskin.
