Theological Libraries Month at Bridwell

In October 2007, Bridwell Library will celebrate Theological Libraries Month. Theological Libraries Month is an effort, begun by the American Theological Library Association, to highlight the vital role libraries play in the life of the institutions they serve.

The decisions the Bridwell Library staff make about allocating budgets, about formats, technology, and preservation all have a direct impact on the teaching and research that takes place at Perkins School of Theology. Theological librarians also increasingly serve as information brokers for their patrons. Whether on-site in the library building or remotely, via email, theological librarians save you—faculty, staff, students, administrators and even alumni—frustration and time.

To celebrate Theological Libraries Month Bridwell Library invites you to learn more about how we serve you.

• EXPLORE the past! Attend a special tour of the “Christian Writers and Their Readers” exhibition in the Elizabeth Perkins Prothro Galleries on October 1 at 

11:30 AM or 4:00PM.





• SALUTE a career of service! Visit the foyer exhibit celebrating the 46 years of service of a theological librarian, Page Thomas. Article on Page Thomas.

• LEARN about the future! Come to the open forum with the new Bridwell Library Director, Roberta Schaafsma on October 12, from 12:30-1:30 in Selecman 210.  You can bring your lunch and Roberta will provide desserts.
