BRIDWELL LIBRARY

Judaica Lecture Series

Bridwell Library of the Perkins School of Theology brings the Dallas community lectures by scholars in diverse fields of Jewish studies every year.  The program began in 1993  through the efforts of former J.S. Bridwell Endowed Librarian, Valerie R. Hotchkiss, and leaders in the Jewish community.  Founded in a spirit of cooperation, the program provides Bridwell Library with an opportunity to reach beyond SMU to the larger community, and encourage interest in the Library's programs and holdings. Library holdings of interest to scholars of Judaism include a Kai'feng Torah Scroll, a Holocaust Torah Scroll from Westminster, Hebraic incunabula and many examples of early printing.
