Subject: Statistics at Texas Instruments
Abstract:
Texas Instruments uses Statistics every day to reduce risk. Our success depends strongly upon accurately modeling customers' and manufacturer's risk. We must be able to predict responses for root cause analyses. Most of our manufacturing data is stored in Oracle Databases. We use a variety of software to extract data and analyze data. Sometimes the amount of data relevant to a given analysis can be overwhelming. This presentation will illustrate the variety of software tools used at TI for extracting data and doing statistical analyses. We will review our training programs in statistics. We will illustrate our success using a couple examples from our corporate wide TI Statistical Council, modeled after the successful Sematech Statistical Council, of which TI is an active member.
