At Home in the Neighborhood.
Just around the corner, as well as just across the street from SMU,
you'll find an abundance of stores,
restaurants, and services on Hillcrest Avenue and in Snider
Plaza, all within walking distance. These include banks, clothing
stores, gift shops, dry cleaners, florists, hair
salons, and restaurants with menus for
virtually every taste.
Mockingbird Station and Highland Village are two of the nearest
shopping villages. They're both just a few blocks from campus
and feature collections of trendy
shops and boutiques, restaurants, and movie theaters.
Students also have convenient options such as a computer store
and internet cafe, hair salon, fast
food restaurants, market, and post office right on campus in the
Hughes-Trigg Student Center.
NorthPark Center, one of the largest shopping malls in Texas,
is located just a few miles north of the SMU campus and may be reached by light
rail and trolley shuttle arrangement or bus service. The
center features more than 200 world-class specialty stores as well as sculptures, paintings
and prints by famed artists such as Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein.
