What’s your flavor?

Computer Science and Engineering
On the cutting edge of tomorrow’s
needs, we’ve got the hottest new track in computer science! Comes with opportunities for specialized game development skills paired with a foundation of traditional computer science.

Electrical Engineering This is a traditional favorite, allowing for opportunities to specialize in other areas as well.

Environmental and Civil Engineering – This field is expected to grow 54% nationwide by the year 2012! SMU Environmental Engineering offers experience and first-hand knowledge of career opportunities through close mentoring relationships with industry professionals.

 

 

Engineering Management, Information and Systems – A fusion of two popular SMU favorites, this course combines both business and engineering.

Mechanical Engineering – Offers a great foundation in broad-based, traditional engineering programs with specialization in biomedical applications

SMU Sampler
– Select any engineering major and combine it with a second course choice from any other SMU department. Some degrees pair more easily together, but the options are virtually endless!
 
Each Main Course offers multiple areas of specialization as well as pre-med and pre-law programs, upon request



Any SMU minor will add to the enrichment and enjoyment of your SMU Engineering main course. Some popular pairings include, but aren't limited to: Math, Chinese, Photography, Piano, Psychology, and Art – to name a few. There are so many to choose from, you'll be sure to get your fill!

The SMU Engineering taste-test isn't limited to Dallas/Fort Worth or even the USA for that matter! Take advantage of the 18 study abroad programs offered at SMU. Why not add some spice to your life and study engineering somewhere like Australia or England?

4 + 1 - Earn both BS and MS degrees in engineering in only 5 years! Students apply to SMU’s graduate programs during their junior year and begin dual level course work their senior year.

Co-op – Up to 21 months of paid, full-time work experience. By adding just one year, students can earn between $48 – 55K, network with some great professionals, and start at a higher salary rate upon graduation.

Internships
– Work experience in the field in Dallas and across the globe! Comes in paid and unpaid varieties.
