e are so pleased to provide this most recent edition of the What’s New at SMU e-letter for your information. Our focus in this edition is on the undergraduate schools at SMU and a look at the variety and excellence of academic and co-curricular programs they offer. At its core SMU remains deeply committed to the liberal arts while also providing strong professional preparation for the workplace and community. In essence, we continue to seek to develop a collegiate environment in which students are able to acquire the skills to make a good living as well acquire the perspectives and sense of purpose to make a good, productive life.

We are so blessed that the applicant pool has grown in measurable quality and quantity once again this year. Such growth truly enables us to increasingly build a community of many interesting and diverse voices, perspectives and talents on our campus. While such growth in the applicant pool is attributable to many factors, your confidence in us in recommending that students consider SMU for their undergraduate careers is of critical importance to that success, and is something for which we are most grateful. Thank you.

Please do feel free to contact us anytime we can be of assistance to you and your students and their families. Thank you for all you do for so many on a daily basis and for your confidence in the SMU community. Best wishes for an enjoyable and productive summer.
