Rod Jackson was born and raised south of Houston, Texas. He attended LaMarque High School and graduated from Southwest Texas State University in the Fall of 1995 with a Bachelor's degree in psychology and minor in business administration.

Rod has been with SMU since 1998, but has worked with high school students since 1996. He enjoys working with students from various backgrounds and helping them to reach their collegiate goals. Being a first-generation college student, he can relate to how difficult and confusing the entire process can be. He welcomes any and all questions students and parents may have about the college admission process. His biggest reward has been helping families make a successful transition from high school to college life.

College Search Tip: Before actually visiting a school or an admission counselor, do a little research on the school and create questions that will help you understand exactly what you need to know about that institution. "The only dumb question is NO question!"
