Big iDeas at SMU is an undergraduate research program that engages and
supports SMU students who are interested in addressing key problems
faced by the Dallas and Metroplex area.
The program provides funding to
interdisciplinary teams of students who submit proposals to define,
study, and address the most important issues facing our home community.
The Office of the Provost, working on the recommendation of a review
panel drawn from faculty and community leaders, provides funding and
sponsorship to teams whose proposals are selected from the proposals
submitted to the Big iDeas Program.
Grants of up to $5000 will be
awarded to the 10 teams chosen.
Teams report publically to the SMU
community on status and findings during the fall and spring semesters.
