Dr. Sanjay Gupta, practicing neurosurgeon and chief medical correspondent for CNN, will be the featured speaker at the SMU Willis M. Tate Distinguished Lecture Series presented by the Jones Day law firm. Gupta reports for CNN on various health and medical news and is featured on CNN shows “Starting Point with Soledad O’Brien,” “Anderson Cooper 360°” and “Sanjay Gupta, M.D.” Gupta also contributes to CNN.com and CNNHealth.com.
In addition to his work for CNN, Gupta is a member of the staff and faculty at the Emory University School of Medicine. He is associate chief of neurosurgery at Grady Memorial Hospital and regularly performs surgery at Emory University and Grady hospitals. He holds memberships in the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the Council on Foreign Relations. He serves as a diplomat of the American Board of Neurosurgery.

The Turner Construction/Wells Fargo Student Forum is a Q&A session for students from SMU and area high schools. It will start at 4:30 p.m. in SMU’s Hughes-Trigg Student Center Ballroom, 3140 Dyer St. (west of Airline Road) and there will be limited seating.
