Discover SMU-in-Taos as experienced by faculty and students.  This short and fun video captures the great blend of natural beauty, rich culture and academic pursuits at SMU-in-Taos.  This video was created by SMU film faculty and students during summer 2016.  The wonderful music was generously donated by local musician, Brent Berry.

SMU-in-Taos: Adventurous Study (5:50)



Discover SMU's beautiful 423-acre in Taos, NM. This mountain oasis provides the perfect complement to SMU’s main campus in Dallas, TX. Undergraduate courses are offered during the summer and winter breaks. These short terms allow students to get ahead or stay on track for graduation. A wide variety of classes from Art to Engineering and Business to Science allow students of nearly every discipline to attend. Small class sizes, engaging faculty and a “classroom without walls” philosophy encourage experiential learning, deep dives into subject matter and tight bonds with faculty and classmates. Field trips are common and often include sites such as museums, Native American pueblos, local non-profits, historic churches, artist workshops, sustainable homes and many more. Adventurous learners will loves this blend of natural beauty, local culture and academic pursuits.

Mountain Sports Rock Climbing Trip: August 2015



Hear our August Term students talk about rock climbing for the first time while fulfilling their PRW II requirement.  Students enrolled in PRW 2135 Mountain Sports enjoy either summer or winter outdoor sports.  Activities include skiing and snowboarding or rock climbing, white water rafting, hiking, fly-fishing and/or horseback riding.

The SMU-in-Taos Cultural Institute courses give you two-and-a-half days of in-depth, hands-on exploration of topics that reflect the unique cultural richness, scientific contributions and recreational opportunities of Northern New Mexico.
