Viva America-Hispanic Heritage Month Kick-Off

Viva America is the annual kick-off for Hispanic Heritage Month. This is an outdoor festival celebrating all Hispanic cultures. Hispanic Heritage Month
Closing Speaker: Belita Moreno
6 p.m. in the Theater of Hughes-Trigg Student Center
Moreno will talk about being a Hispanic woman in the entertainment industry and her time here at SMU. She grew up in Oak Cliff and graduated from SMU in 1971 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. She is best known for her roles as Benita "Benny" Lopez on the ABC sitcom George Lopez and Edwina Twinkacetti/Lydia Markham on Perfect Strangers.
