Dinah Chancellor

Dinah Chancellor is a professional development consultant and mathematics task writer and editor for Exemplars in Underhill, Vermont. In addition, she has served on the author team for Pearson’s EnVision Math and has recently co-authored Math In Focus K-6: How to Help Students Understand Big Ideas and Make Critical Connections (©2010). Dinah has taught children to use reasoning and creativity to solve problems throughout her career. In her home state of Texas, she has been both a teacher and leader in mathematics. She has taught students in special education, mainstream and gifted and talented classes. She brings additional experience as a former Instructional Coordinator for grade K-12 Mathematics, Science and Gifted and Talented.

Dinah has reviewed the NCTM elementary journal, Teaching Children Mathematics and developed the "Calendar Math" column, serving as its author/editor for the first three years. She has also held the positions of Treasurer, Membership Chair and President for the Texas Association of Supervisors of Mathematics and chaired the Board of Directors for the Conference for the Advancement of Mathematics Teaching in Texas (CAMT). Most recently, Dinah has served on the writing team for the revision of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills in Mathematics. She represented the Primary Writing Team before the State Board of Education as they deliberated the new math standards.
