The advisers in the Department of Teaching and Learning program work with students seeking admission as well as those who are already in the program. Each teacher certification student MUST meet with an adviser each semester before registering; it is mandatory that one of the designated advisers (see below) approves a student's selection of courses.
Scheduling an Advising Appointment
Current students with a student ID and password can use the automated Room Reservation system.
Prospective students will need to contact the Department of Teaching and Learning at 214-768-2346.
Dr. Kay Kuner
For certification students, Dr. Kuner advises for EC-6.
For Master of Education students, Dr. Kuner advises for last names from A-M, and all Master of Education in Reading & Writing students.
Ms. Kathy Barrett
For certification students, Ms. Barrett advises for all secondary and 4-8.
For Master of Education students, Ms. Barrett advises for last names from N-Z, and all non-degree students.
