Christopher J. Darville, Ed.D., is a part time faculty member in the Department of Education Policy and Leadership at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Darville's teaching and research focuses on the inquiry of the experiences of African American male students: specifically, how these students navigate the college landscape in predominately white institutions of higher education. He also is interested in how faculty and mentoring programs impact the success trajectory of African American male students in higher education.

Prior to joining the SMU faculty, Dr. Darville served as an Executive Intern to the Chancellor at San Jacinto Community College District. Previously, he served as a staff member with the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD), and as a Sociology faculty member in a community college as well as an HBCU.

He has earned degrees from Louisiana State University (Bachelor's of Science), Southeastern Louisiana University (Master's of Science in Sociology), and The University of Texas at Austin (Ed.D., Higher Education Administration, Community College Leadership Program).
