Dr. Hanegan has been conducting and publishing STEM education research
for more than 15 years. As a former science teacher from South Texas,
she has helped many schools/districts redirect their foci towards STEM
education improvement through teacher professional development. Dr.
Hanegan is currently examining the student achievement affects of
partial implementation of Project Based Learning in high school
classrooms; as well as affects of philanthropic efforts to increase
avenues for minority student access into the STEM pipeline.
She received her doctorate in science education from The University of
Texas at Austin with emphases in diverse student learners and ecology.
Dr. Hanegan has conducted education studies nationally, presented her
work to international audiences, is an education research journal
editor, and has studied ecology in several countries. |
