Kathy L. Scherler is Program Development Specialist in the Dallas
Independent School District where she oversees the International
Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and serves as the director of college
preparatory academies at Woodrow Wilson High School.
Dr. Scherler received her Ph.D. from the University of North Texas in
Denton, Texas. Her research has been presented all over the United
States as well as in Bologna, Italy. She has had several publications
and served on an editorial board for two book publications. Most
recently she presented presentations for the 2011 International
Baccalaureate International Conference and the 2012 National Academy
Foundation Conference.
Dr. Scherler is a former university professor at the University of Texas
at Arlington and Midwestern State University. She has her Superintendent
and Principal certification and taught K-12 for twenty years in Texas
and Oklahoma. She is a member of the American Education Research
Association, Phi Delta Kappa International, World Affairs Council, Texas
Administrators Association, and the Dallas Institute of Humanities and
Culture. She recently received the Texas PTA Honorary Life Membership.
Dr. Scherler's career focus is building international and cultural
understanding through rigorous curriculum, university partnerships, and
student leadership development. |
