Ann Beheler is a strong, yet collaborative, community college leader
whose primary goal is helping students of all types achieve better lives
through education. After several years in various corporate roles, she
became a full-time faculty member at Richland College in 1992. There she
found her true passion as an instructor and built the first computer
networking program in the State of Texas. Since that time, she has held
the positions of Dean/Executive Director of Engineering and Emerging
Technologies at Collin College, Dean of Business, Computing and Career
Services at Orange Coast College, and she is currently is serving as
Vice-President of Academic Affairs at Porterville College.
Ann has developed and led many types of instructional programs including
face-to-face, online, basic skills, transfer/general education, career
and technical, credit, non-credit, contract, etc. She makes decisions
informed by data and prides herself in focusing constantly on
improvement. She is also dedicated to providing continuing professional
development for all staff and faculty.
In her corporate and academic roles, she has led and assisted in the
development of strategic plans, including assessment plans for
characterizing success or failure of each goal and objective. She
recently wrote the Midterm Accreditation Report for Porterville College,
gathering data from many stakeholders across the campus, and she
co-chairs the College Learning Council, the highest-level college-wide
committee that makes final recommendations to the President on behalf of
all campus constituencies.
Ann has significant experience building relationships with business,
K-12, universities, and community leaders to collaboratively implement
and guide innovative programs such as a high school dual-credit program.
Further, she has experience garnering and leading grants, including a
Regional National Science Foundation Convergence Technology Center that
continues to be integral in refocusing the Information and
Communications Technology industry in North Texas. She also serves on
the National Visiting Committee for the Regional NSF Center for Systems
Security and Information Assurance grant in which Inver Hills is a
partner.
As VPAA, Ann heads all instructional programs with a focus on the core
missions of transfer, basic skills, and career and technical programs as
well as a growing community service offering. She has led faculty to
complete almost 100% of student learning outcomes for courses and
programs as well as the assessment of these outcomes. While at Orange
Coast, she was responsible for academic programs in Business and
Computing as well as career services. At Collin she was responsible for
continuing education and credit engineering and technology programs as
well as Distance Education and the Teaching and Learning Center for all
campuses of the District. Previously, Ann was Director of Product and
Technology Management for Raytheon Professional Services, Director of
Certifications for Novell, Inc. and has owned her own consulting
business. |
