SMU Dispute Resolution Alumna Robyn Short will debut her new book, Peace in the Workplace: Transforming Conflict Into Collaboration, at the Conflict Resolution Author Series on Oct. 11 at 6:30 p.m. Her lecture, Peace in the Workplace, will be followed by a book signing.

The Southern California Mediation Association (SCMA) has chosen Dr. Betty Gilmore as the 2016 L. Randolph Lowry Award recipient. The award honors members of the dispute resolution community who have inspired others through their passion and dedication to education in the field of dispute resolution.

The Monthly SMU DRCM Reading Group continues Sept. 20. Dr. John Potter will examine the first half of White Trash: The 400-Year Untold History of Class in America by Nancy Isenberg. Every month, Dr. Potter will select a new book of interest to mediators, facilitators, executive coaches and dispute resolution in general. Dr. Potter holds the monthly Reading Group on the third Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. on the SMU Plano Campus. Join us for the conversation.

MONTHLY MEDIATION EXERCISES

Student workshop series focusing on mediation skills and techniques continues Sept. 6. Students will have the opportunity to do a couple of short mediation exercises and then spend time reviewing. Students will discuss what worked, what they might do differently, and overall skills and abilities used in the exercise. Space is limited to nine students per workshop.
