Misty Solt, Ph.D., is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor as well as a National Certified Counselor. Dr. Solt is a Registered Play Therapy Supervisor and received her Ph.D. from the University of North Texas in 2003 where she was an Adjunct Professor in the Counseling Department. Dr. Solt has served as the SMU Center for Family Counseling Center from 2008-2011 and was an Adjunct Professor, teaching courses in the area of Practicum and Child Counseling. Dr. Solt opened her own practice in Frisco, Texas in May of 2003 and specializes in the areas of anxiety and attachment. Earlier work following her Master's degree in Mental Health from Eastern Illinois University was in the areas of school crisis counseling, general crisis counseling and assessment, in-home counseling, agency counseling, and private practice. Dr. Solt has numerous publications in academic journals, and she also has started her own company that produces children's books to help them through difficult situations like visiting the doctor or dentist, divorce, and other psychologically significant events.
