Chris Simpson, Ph.D. earned his doctorate in Counseling from the University of North Texas in 2002. Since that time, he has developed a private practice in Dallas where he sees a variety of clientele including families, adults and adolescents. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC).
Dr. Simpson also serves as an Assistant Professor of Counseling at Texas A&M University-Commerce. He is a regular presenter at state and national conferences. For the past nine years, Dr. Simpson has served as a therapist for Camp El Tesoro de la Vida, a camp for children ages 6-17 who are grieving the loss of a loved one. This camp and a variety of other grief support environments have been inspirational in Dr. Simpsons research and teaching. In addition to grief and bereavement, Dr. Simpson has published articles and book chapters addressing self-injurious behavior in adolescents, group, and working with adolescents.
