SMU-In-Taos Student Casita Earns “Gold” for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design - Casita Clements, a recently constructed student residence on the campus of SMU-in-Taos, is the first commercial or institutional building in the Taos area to achieve the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED certification for sustainable, environmentally responsible construction. Reports Highlight Campaign Momentum - During the February 26 meeting of the SMU Board of Trustees, Campaign Convening Co-chair Gerald J. Ford '66, '69 reported that almost 35 percent of alumni have made a commitment or contribution thus far in the campaign. Heath - Generous gifts from alumni, family and friends have established dozens of endowed faculty positions at SMU, enabling the University to attract leading scholars by providing significant research funds and competitive salaries.
