President's Message: Campaign has received more than $317 million commitments in quiet phase

Thanks to you, SMU has enjoyed tremendous momentum during the past 10 years. We have attracted brighter students and greater numbers of renowned faculty, created innovative academic programs, constructed state-of-the-art facilities and especially, generated unbridled pride in SMU.

I’d like to express thanks to the 15 members of the Campaign Leadership Council for guiding the University through the most successful period of campaign preparation imaginable ­­– more than $317 million in commitments have been received during the campaign’s quiet phase.

My gratitude extends to the campaign volunteers supporting various schools, units and regions. These dedicated volunteers now lead us into the public phase, which officially started on September 12.

To those of you who have provided critical support to bring us to this point, thank you. Many individuals, families and organizations have provided significant leadership gifts during the quiet phase. Following their leadership, we are confident thousands of other Mustangs will join this momentous effort

Together, we can build a second century of achievement for SMU. Together, we can create a boundless future that not only will benefit students and faculty, but also will influence our nation and the world for centuries to come. I welcome your support as we launch  The Second Century Campaign.
